Empire State Development (ESD) today announced the five GENIUS NY startups who will participate in the world’s biggest business accelerator focusing on uncrewed systems in round six. The firms were chosen from a very competitive pool of more than 200 entries from over 50 countries. They are exploring advancements in the unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), internet of things (IoT), and robotics industries. The five international teams who won are from Canada, the Netherlands, Israel, Poland, and the United Kingdom. Participants in GENIUS NY must operate their firm in Central New York for at least one year. The CNY Rising Upstate Revitalization Initiative (URI), the region’s award-winning strategic plan to foster robust economic growth and community development, is funding the initiative.
