Wonder Robotics, a GENIUS NY Cohort 6 team, has won the annual “Pitch the Press” competition at the Commercial UAV Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Wonder Robotics’ WonderLand System touts “Vertical Awareness” to improve the safe landing of autonomous vehicles. WonderLand’s sensors and algorithms improve understanding of weather, ground conditions, lighting, and other factors that can affect landing safety and precision. The panel of judges chose WonderLand because of the need for safe landing paths and risk management in drone operations.
Pitch the Press judges listened to 17 companies’ two-minute pitches. Idan Shimon, Wonder co-founder, spoke on behalf of his team. The top three contenders were chosen as winners based on their innovation and potential for ROI.
Wonder Robotics‘ winning pitch served as excellent practice for the upcoming 2022 GENIUS NY Pitch Finals, which will be held on November 3, 2022 at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown. On that evening, based on a five-minute pitch and Q&A, judges will award the grand prize of $1 million to one of the five GENIUS NY Cohort 6 teams. The remaining teams will receive $500,000 each, for a total award of $3 million. Although registration is required, the event is free and open to the public.
